Commercial logistics operations fund the research programme and supply what robotics and machine learning require: proprietary contact and transaction data, and production facilities in which systems can be validated under real load. Xindi operates a cross-border logistics and commerce business across the Americas for global brands and platforms. These operations fund the research programme and generate the transaction and contact data on which the systems above are developed.

Warehousing and fulfillment

Owned facilities within each market, which also serve as the deployment environment for robotics development. Inventory held in-market keeps delivery times within a several-day window and maintains platform fulfillment metrics.

Technology

Tactile perception, manipulation and human-robot interaction

Navigation and visual perception are largely solved problems in warehouse robotics. Manipulation is not. The remaining constraint is physical contact: forming and maintaining a reliable grasp on unknown, deformable and optically difficult objects at production throughput. Xindi's research programme concentrates on that constraint and on the interaction models required when robots and operators share a task.

Tactile perception for contact-rich manipulation

Haptic sensing / Robot Touch

Optical perception estimates object pose. Tactile perception establishes contact state: whether a grasp has formed, how load is distributed across the contact patch, and whether the object has begun to slip. Xindi develops tactile sensing at the gripper surface together with the control policies that consume it.

Human-robot interaction

Autonomous manipulation is reached incrementally, and a long tail of exception cases persists throughout. Xindi develops the haptic interaction layer that allows an operator to assume control of a physical task remotely, and the compliant-control behaviour required where robots and people occupy a shared workspace.

Learning from contact data

Tactile data cannot be scraped. It exists only where robots perform physical work, and its value depends on the realism of the SKU distribution, packaging and throughput pressure under which it was collected. Xindi's fulfillment operations generate that data continuously.

How the company is run

Automation developed inside owned operations

Robotics programmes ordinarily depend on securing a host facility willing to accommodate experimental systems. Xindi owns the facilities, the volume and the operating result, which permits iteration against real throughput rather than within the constraints of a hosted pilot.

Research funded by operating revenue

The logistics business finances the research programme. This provides the resource that hardware development and model training both require and that capital alone cannot compress: time.

Compliance as a structural requirement

Undocumented clearance carries a permanent risk of enforcement action. Xindi operates fully declared, duty-paid imports, which is the only basis on which an automated fulfillment network can be built and financed.

Two entities, one organisation

A Shenzhen company and a California company operate as a single organisation across time zones. Hardware and supply chain functions are conducted in Chinese; market operations and deployment are conducted in English and Spanish.
